CastAway Graphite Rods is proud to announce the launch of its two new Todd Faircloth Signature rods. Faircloth, a top B.A.S.S. Elite Series angler based in Jasper, Texas, has worked directly with CastAway designers in the development of these rods and has put them to good use on the Elite Series circuit over several years. Soon, these specialized rods will be available to bass anglers nationwide.
These Todd Faircloth Signature rods are joining CastAway’s popular Skeleton graphite rod family – lightweight, yet extremely powerful and sensitive rods built on proprietary multi-modulus blanks. New Model SKX-TFSC (Big T Shallow Cranker) is a 7′ 2″ rod rated for 8- to 25-lb. test line and ½- to 1-oz. lures. Faircloth has enjoyed great success with this rod working shallow running lures like lipless and square billed crankbaits. A medium-fast tip allows for longer casts to cover more water, while Faircloth has found that the rod’s medium-heavy action allows for solid hooksets, even at the end of a long cast. A nice, slow overall bend in the rod helps Faircloth fight big fish without having to worry about pulling these lures’ light treble hooks.
New Model SKX-TFTT (Big T’s Triple Threat) is a 7′ 3″ stick rated for 12- to 25-lb. test line and ¼- to 1-oz. lures. Faircloth uses this rod for many purposes, but finds it especially ideal for froggin’, pitchin’ and draggin’ (hence the “Triple Threat” moniker). This rod’s heavy action and deep, parabolic bend are engineered to pull even the biggest, meanest bass out of heavy slop.
As part of CastAway’s premium Skeleton rod family, these new rods are made with the finest components and attention to detail, including ALPS SS316 guides, Grade A cork grips and CastAway’s exclusive double-exposed reel seats for the optimal feel and sensitivity. Like all CastAway Rods, the cork and reel seats are drilled to exact specifications, providing a perfect fit without excess glue, tape or shims. The result is superior quality, balance and lasting durability.
Faircloth will continue to work with CastAway on developing new rod models that help him fish – and win. His brilliant professional fishing career includes four B.A.S.S wins and 32 Top 10 finishes, netting Faircloth more than $1.7 million in B.A.S.S earnings. In fact, his win at the 2013 Bassmaster Elite Series Sabine River Challenge (in his home state of Texas) earned Faircloth $100,000 and an automatic spot in next year’s Bassmaster Classic, where he’ll be making his 12th appearance in bass fishing’s ultimate event.
“We’ve worked very closely with Todd to engineer rods that excel for his favorite styles of fishing,” said CastAway’s Adam Murray. “Now, we’re excited to introduce these rods to the industry, and eager to offer these finely-tuned tools to bass fishing enthusiasts across the country.”
